Nintendo Switch online surprises fans with 5 classic Games of Sega Genesis

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack has been adding slowly just a new Nintendo game 64 per month, but it seems that Sega Genesis games will be added at a much faster rhythm. Nintendo has announced that five new games that originated in the system are now available through the Sega Genesis application: Bestir Altered, Dynamite Heady, Thunder Force II, and Toe jam and Earl. These five games offer a significant amount of variety, and players who have lost them during the Genesis era should not have problems finding something to enjoy.

The official Twitter account of Nintendo revealed the new games along with an advance, which can be found on the Tweet encrusted below.

For those who are not familiar with the operation of the Expansion Pack, it is a different plan from the standard subscription of Nintendo Switch Online. For $30 more, subscribers get access to the Hagar happy paradise DLC for animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as Game Libraries for Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis. These games are included in applications that can be downloaded for free from Nintendo Shop. The Expansion Pack has been the subject of a great controversy since it was first revealed. While the improved version of Nintendo Switch Online gives users the possibility to see a series of additional retro games, many feel that it is not worth the additional cost. In fact, the five Games of Sega Genesis added today, four are available in Classics of SEGA Genesis, a retro collection available in Switch.

SEGA Genesis - December 2021 Game Updates - Nintendo Switch Online

Hopefully, today's update means we will see many more Games of Sega Genesis added in larger lots. The console offered a great library of classic games, and it would be good to see more of them aggregated to the service. From the games added today, Toe jam and Earl is a personal favorite, and those who enjoy the game may want to see Toe jam & Earl: Back to rhythm, a modern sequel currently available at Nintendo Shop.
