Nagelsmann: I already asked if that was a good conversation
Last week Pini Zahavi (78) was on site in Munich to talk to those responsible for FC Bayern about the future of his client Robert Lewandowski (33). On June 30, 2023, the contract of the top Polish scorer expires, selling this summer - as Lewandowski can imagine - Bavaria will only become him if the transfer is right and there is an adequate replacement.
Otherwise, those responsible for FC Bayern want to insist on the fact that the currently valid contract will be complied with. In Dortmund, too, Lewandowski had fulfilled his contract in 2013 despite a desired early switch to FCB until 2014 and then changed to Munich free of charge.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann stays out of contract topics as usual, but "I already asked if that was a good conversation," said the 34-year-old on Friday morning about the meeting between Zahavi, Hasan Salihamidzic and Co. "That was probably... ", he added. "... a good exchange." But: "There is nothing to report yet - in no direction."
Zahavi "Tough" - patience is also asked at Gnabry
The coach point of view has not changed. He assures that Lewandowski holds and also want to extend it with the top scorer. "The Brazzo has to express everything else in due course. He was there at the conversation, I don't. You know that Pini is one who likes to negotiate and tough."
As with Serge Gnabry (26), whose contract also expires in 2023, the negotiations are likely to draw. "This is quite normal," said Nagelsmann. "You need the necessary patience. This is one of my big strengths."
