A new MMO Marvel is in preparation for the developers of City of Heroes
A new MMORPG based on an IP address Marvel would be under development at Dimensional Ink. The studio is also the team behind DC Universe Online. Jack Emmett will lead the development of the game not announced and without a title. He was also the developer who designed City of Heroes and currently leads the team working on DUO.
Unfortunately, this new MMO Marvel would be a long-term title. The presentation lists the MMO Marvel as a EU online massively multiplayer based on Marvel IP.
That said, Marvel Game Fans may not want to know more about 2023 at the earliest. The news has been revealed only during a recent presentation to investors of END Goal 7, the company owner of Daybreak Game Studios. Dimensional Ink, on the other hand, is a subsidiary of Daybreak.
Daybreak is not inexperienced when it comes to publishing successful MMOs. The ones they left kept a faithful audience, although they did not really hoist at the top of the ranking. Daybreak published Lord of the Rings Online, which, in turn, is redesigned to accompany an upcoming TV series on Amazon.
Daybreak's news work on a MMO Marvel appeared for the first time in 2019. Apparently, the studio was already trying to develop the game for about 2018. It was before the layoffs greatly affect the studio. Shortly after that, the developers would have decided to completely suspend the project.
Now, however, it seems that the Marvel MMO project has been restarted at Daybreak Game Studios. It certainly seems that this new project is more successful than all previous attempts. In 2013, Marvel Heroes closed after several name changes in 2017. Emmett's Cryptic Studios also worked on a MMO Marvel with Microsoft. They then canceled this project in 2008, before reviving on Champions Online.
